A highly organised and motivated individual is sought by our client, one of the largest, privately owned, UK fashion retailers. They have recently invested heavily in rebranding the store portfolio and strengthening the appeal of the brand and are enjoying a period of continuous growth and impressive trading results.

Working in a small team environment, the Allocations Department liaise with all functions across the business especially Buying, Merchandising and Stores. Your key responsibility is to ensure the right stock is allocated to the right stores in the right quantity, at the right time, to potentialise sales.

Personal Requirements:

The successful candidate will need a passion for fashion with an enthusiastic personality and a desire to succeed within the retail industry. Technical / numerical skills are essential as the role requires a good knowledge of spreadsheets and computer systems. You will be able to prioritise and organise effectively, possess good numerical and analytical skills and already have industry experience in this position - either a placement or permanent employment.

Junior Merchandiser

£££ to £30,000 + Attractive Benefits

An exciting new permanent position has arisen within the Head Office Merchandising Department of this national specialist Retailer. Growth has been steady and continuous in recent years and they are now the second largest group in their sector with realistic and achievable plans to become the biggest.

Following the recent overhaul and investment in the stock management system, they are seeking a Junior Merchandiser to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of a designated product area to optimise sales, stock, markdown and bottom line profit.

Responsibilities of the role will include:

• Managing the supply base which will include monitoring commitment and intake of stock
• Maintaining close working relationships with the Supplier to increase efficiency, create flexibility and improve product availability
• To accurately re-forecast sales and intake at line and category level
• Effect those changes in the merchandise planning system
• To improve the accuracy of branch allocation and replenishment
• Ensure optimum new store range availability
• Regularly forecast and re-forecast core lines
• Maintain 100% availability whilst minimising stockholding
• Co-ordinate with colleagues in IT, Stock Distribution and Marketing Teams to ensure that markdown and / or promotional activities are communicated to the high street stores correctly
• Action and update the range plan and merchandising system
• Ad hoc duties requested by the Merchandiser Manager

Requirements:

• Previous Merchandising experience required and essential to be considered for this role
• IT literate

• Attention to detail
