You will be responsible for the design and creative development of innovative and commercially attractive new ranges of merchandise. Your key objective is to seek out new ideas and fresh inspiration from the UK’s vibrant metropolitan arts, music, fashion and popular culture, and translate these influences into new and ultra-contemporary product ranges.

This unconventional role requires a unique creative talent with cross-functional skills - someone who is equally confident with clothing design and product development as with more traditional disciplines of range-planning, supplier development and margin management. We are looking for a true original thinker - someone who is passionate in their beliefs, highly creative and capable of collaborating with other international colleagues and inspiring confidence in your commercial judgment.

You are possibly a qualified fashion designer, but will also have gained solid Buying / Product Development experience within a major High Street fashion or international brand environment. This is a truly unique opportunity to shape the future direction of a signature fashion brand.

Merchandiser

Growth has been steady and continuous in recent years for this national specialist retailer and they are now the second largest group in their sector with realistic and achievable plans to become the biggest. Consequently they are now looking to further strengthen their B&M team.

Following the recent overhaul and significant investment in the stock management system, they are seeking an experienced Merchandiser to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of a designated product area to optimise sales, stock, markdown and bottom line profit.

Responsibilities of the role will include:

> Managing the supply base which will include monitoring commitment and intake of stock
> Maintaining close working relationships with the Supplier to increase efficiency, create flexibility and improve product availability
> To accurately re-forecast sales and intake at line and category level
> Effect those changes in the merchandise planning system
> To improve the accuracy of branch allocation and replenishment
> Ensure optimum new store range availability
> Regularly forecast and re-forecast core lines
> Maintain 100% availability whilst minimising stockholding
> Co-ordinate with colleagues in IT, Stock Distribution and Marketing Teams to ensure that markdown and / or promotional activities are communicated to the high street stores correctly
> Action and update the range plan and merchandising system
> Ad hoc duties requested by the Merchandiser Manager

Assistant Merchandiser

Our client are a growing plc who want their products to fly off the shelves. Working alongside the Merchandiser, you'll use your knowledge of stock management and replenishment to make sure that's exactly what happens.

About the role - providing support for everything from stock level reviews through to weekly, seasonal and ad hoc reporting, you'll know exactly what's selling and how to maximise profitability. We'll expect you to be able reforecast sales, stock and margin - identifying opportunities and risks - and to have a clear understanding of OTB. You will work alongside the buying team to identify opportunities for stock transfer and make recommendations on commitment, and will work with the allocators to ensure that we always have the right stock, in the right place, at the right time.

About you - you'll already be an Assistant Merchandiser in retail and you'll have experience of working across different product ranges and with both seasonal and continuity stock. A strong team player, you'll be numerate and analytical. You'll also have excellent MS Excel skills and will be a fantastic problem-solver who can work with data to quickly identify solutions.
